The President of the COP28 Climate Summit in the United Arab Emirates stated that 117 countries have signed a commitment to triple the world’s Renewable Energy capacity by 2030 and expects the final number to increase.

In his speech, President Erdoğan said: ‘We envision to realize the net zero emission target by 2053. By 2030, we have doubled our emission reduction target. In this context, we expect 66.6 million tons of carbon dioxide emission reduction by the end of the year. We increased the share of Renewable Energy Resources in total installed capacity to 55%, ranking 5th in Europe and 12th in the world. We rank first in Europe and 4th in the world in geothermal installed capacity. In hydroelectric power plant installed capacity, we rank 2nd in Europe and 9th in the world. We have put our hydrogen technologies strategy into practice. In addition, we have completed our road map for decarbonizing the steel, aluminum, cement and fertilizer sectors in the context of the net zero emission target.”

It was predicted at the summit that the share of renewable energy in Turkey will increase to 69% in 2053 and all countries stated their targets.

In the November 2023 installed capacity report, it was stated that the solar installed capacity was 11,205 MW and the total renewable installed capacity was 58,574 MW. According to the National Energy Plan published by the Ministry of Energy, the target for solar energy by 2035 is 53,000 MW. While we have 11,205 MW installed capacity in November 2023, we need to install 3,483 MW annually to meet this target. Looking at the November 2022 report, with an installed capacity of 9,319 MW, it means that 1,886 MW of installations have been completed in the last 1 year, which is almost half.

So, to reach the target, in 2024, we will produce and install twice as much as last year!

As Rhofa Energy, one of these producers, we continue to produce at international standards without compromising on quality.

Because Clean Energy for Everyone Rhofa Energy!
